Anthony KOSLA

CEO, Founder and Head Coach

Tony Kosla is a highly experienced and successful foil fencer and coach, with over two decades of experience in the sport. He was a member of a team that won the bronze medal at the North American Cup in 2013, demonstrating his skill and talent as a fencer.

As a coach, Tony has had considerable success, having worked as an assistant coach at Michigan State University and later joining a coaching staff that produced students who won regional, national, and international medals. His team also dominated the Midwest youth circuit rankings, highlighting his skill as a coach.

In 2018, Tony founded the Ann Arbor Fencing Club, which later became the Plymouth/Ann Arbor Fencing Academy. His goal was to grow the sport of fencing in the Midwest, especially in his hometown of Ann Arbor. Despite the challenges of the pandemic and lockdowns, Tony was able to continue running his program, offering virtual and outdoor classes to his small group of competitive youth fencers. Eventually, he found a permanent home for his academy in the Plymouth Arts and Recreation Complex, which helped his program to grow significantly.

Under Tony's leadership, PA2FA has achieved tremendous success, with its fencers winning numerous regional, national, and international medals. Tony's dedication, expertise, and experience make him an invaluable asset to the sport of fencing and to the fencing community in the Midwest.
